Paper covered boards over black cloth spine, black lettering to upper board and decorative endpapers. Fully illustrated with black & white woodcuts and designs throughout the text. A few light marks and rubbing to boards, light scuffing to corners, edges and tips of the spine as seen in photos, otherwise a firm and sound copy. Internally clean and fresh with light thumbing to bottom of a few pages and a touch of foxing to endpapers and throughout the book, worse to the bottom of a couple of pages. 'Molly McArthur (1893-1972) had two distinct styles of illustration. From the middle of the 1920s, she moved on from earlier highly-decorative ?fairy? art to produce beautiful monotone woodcuts in a distinctly oriental style'.
