In publishers original dark green cloth with white lettering to front and rear boards and spine. 20pp of publisher's adverts at the rear dated June 1894 indicating that this is the first printing. Condition: Good plus. Boards have soiling and wear to cloth with rubbing around the spine and a tiny amount of loss to the bottom corner of the spine at rear. Corners are lightly bumped and rubbed. The title is bright on the front board and faded, though still clear on the spine. Internally the hinges are beginning to crack although the front and rear hinges remain sound. The pages are very lightly toned, the endpapers are darker. There is a partially removed ownership signature to the ffep, and the bookplate of Gerald Bowden, sometime MP for Dulwich on the front pastedown. This has lightly offset on to the ffep. REF:C62122
