Published in 1891 this is the Rare true first edition of this Victorian Science Fiction / Fantasy Novel form author Stables, a tale in the vein of Jules Verne of a Huge Crystal Flying Machine and a Voyage around the World, book is bound in the original pictorial cloth with illustrations to front board and spine, page edges gilded all-round, most copies that turn up are later variant issues in the publishers generic cloth bindings, internally illustrated with eight full page drawings, 343 pages, figured in Locke Spectrum of Fantasy. The covers have some signs of wear, cloth generally darkened with some marking, light fraying at spine ends, internally old ownership inscription to floral front endpapers, mild cracking to joints, some occasional handling and other small noticeable marks within, creasing wear to some page corners, one gathering standing slightly proud of the text block, though firmly attached, else a generally good acceptable example of the true first edition in the primary pictorial binding
