TRAVELS INTO THE INTERIOR OF AFRICA By Mungo Park
Book Description
Published in 1821, this is a very scarce pocket sized printing of the travels of Mungo Park in Africa, published in Dublin Ireland by W. Epsy, there are seemingly no copies of this edition in any of the main institutional library collections.
The book is bound in an old full leather binding measuring 5.5 inches tall approx, 180 pages, illustrated with small vignette woodcuts within the text and a small number of full page illustrations.
The leather binding is a little rubbed at spine ends, a short split to the leather at top of rear joint though board still well attached, internally lacks rear blank endpaper, though there is no evidence one was ever present, a small edge tear with minimal loss to one page (pictured) a few browned spots and a couple of creased page corners else in good general condition.
