Book Description

Published in 1908, this is the First Edition of this rare Edwardian era book on Winter Sports, Covering Bandy, Curling, Ice Skating, Skiing, Tobogganing, Ice Yachting, etc. Bound in the original red cloth titled and decorated in gilt, 9 inches tall approx., well-illustrated with photographs and drawing within the text, plus a rare catalogue of winter sports gear and venues. The covers have darkened to edges with some dulling of the gilt on the upper cover. Light corner bumps, internally endpapers heavily browned and foxed, foxing to half title page, page edges untrimmed, small nicks to leading edges of a couple of the plates. There are pencilled sketches of skating moves to three-page borders, (pictured) else contents in good general condition.
