The first book was published in 1938 to instant acclaim and led to a further eighteen books in the series. This story revolves around the family's seaside holiday. Beautifully illustrated throughout with coloured drawings by the author. The book is in near fine condition with some rubbing to the bottom edges of the boards and a small booksellers sticker to the rear of the front board. The unclipped dust jacket is very good with excellent colouring, some minor losses and nicks. A rare to find in such good condition.
