The second book in a series of three books narrating the author's journey on foot across Europe from the Hook of Holland to Constantinople in 1993 - 34. This book begins with Fermor crossing the Maria Valeria bridge from Czechoslovakia into Hungary and ends when he reaches the Iron Gate where the Danube formed the boundary between the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and Romania. 
The book is in fine condition. The binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. There is shelf wear to the top and bottom edges of the spine. The end papers and pages are free from marks, tears and inscriptions. 
The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in very good condition with loss to the top corner of the front cover, a crease mark to the bottom edge of the front cover, nibbling to the top and bottom edges of the spine and marks to the back cover. 
Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.
