One of only 788 copies of the first impression, most of which were rejected or destroyed owing to poor production. This true first American edition gathers for the first time Eliot’s four late masterpieces — Burnt Norton, East Coker, The Dry Salvages, and Little Gidding — often described as the summit of twentieth-century English verse.
Condition: The book itself is in Fine condition, remarkably fresh, apparently unread, with clean and uncreased pages, bright and square. The dust jacket is about Very Good, with losses at head and foot of spine and small edge chips; not price-clipped, retaining the original $2.00 price. Jacket panels complete with some toning and wear, but the original design remains strong.
Price as stated. Shipping: Insured and tracked shipping included to the UK and all EU countries. Otherwise, individually addressed.
