Included by BBC News on its list of the 100 Most Inspiring Novels and adapted for TV in 2020, this story is set in a newly post-independence, post-partition India and follows four families over eighteen months and revolves around Mrs. Rupa Mehra's efforts to arrange the marriage of her younger daughter Late to a "suitable boy". The novel was snubbed by Booker and has subsequently been hailed as the greatest Indian Novel. 
This is a First Edition, First Impression, First State with olive green end papers.  
The book is in fine condition. The binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. The end papers and pages are free from marks, tears and inscriptions. 
The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in near fine condition with a small crease to the top edge of the spine, and a crease mark to the bottom edge of the back cover.
