                            Yakushi T57a. Teichman (1884-1944) joined the British consular service in 1906, and in 1907 became asasistant Chinese secretary in Peking, serving under Sidney Barton. He returned to London in 1921, but went back to Peking to replace Barton in 1922.The present work provides a record of his travels in the China-Tibetan borders in 1918 and 1919, when he explored the Kham region that straddles Tibet and Szechuen. This copy belonged to Michael Ward, member of the 1951 & 1953 Everest expeditions.
