Book Description

The Unknown Shore, Patrick O'Brian, Rupert Hart-Davis, 1959, First Edition, First Impression The story of two friends, Jack Byron and Tobias Barrow, who sail aboard HMS Wager as part of the voyage around the world led by Commodore George Anson in 1740. The book is in near fine condition. The binding is tight with a slight lean, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. There is a faint stain to the top edge of the back cover. The end papers and pages are free from tears and inscriptions. There is a mark to the top edge and foxing to the fore edges and the bottom edges. The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in very good condition with loss to all the corners, wear to the edges of the front and back covers, nibbling to the bottom edge of the front cover, loss and nibbling to the bottom edge of the spine, a sunned spine and nibbling and a crease mark to the bottom edge of the back cover. Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.
