Atlas – full leather binding with gilt decoration to spine and front board. Twelve guard-mounted double-page facsimile maps and charts. 23.25 x 16.25 inches approx. (590mm x 418mm). Commentary volume – buckram over boards, gilt title to spine and inlay paper title to front. viii, 87pp plus colour plates. 12 x 7.5 inches approx (305mm x 194mm). All housed in a buckram covered clamshell box with title to front and leather label to spine.
Box bumped to corners, especially to tail of spine. Leather a little marked in places especially to rear board – some from handling however in the main are naturally occurring blemishes inherent in such a large piece of hide.
A nice, clean copy – sumptuous, large and heavy…
