The Ordinaries in Heraldry *original manuscript*
Book Description
Unique hand written 32 pp pamphlet of heraldry shields and symbols. Only the right hand pages are actually written on except the very last page, on the left. Marbled paper covers with a stitched binding. Shields and symbols are in the margin and drawn with hand colouring. Explanatory notes, in some detail, to the side of each. This pamphlet was acquired as part of a collection of books and ephemera previously belonging to AWF Fuller (see other listings) and was almost certainly the work of Richard Fuller, an ancestor, of AWF Fuller (and JFC. Fuller, his brother.) The drawing style is very similar to another pamphlet in the collection which contained skillful drawings of world maps, again with hand colouring. If so it would date this heraldry pamphlet to c1806, since this was the date of the maps (which have been sold.) With this sort of provenance this original manuscript is a scarce and unique piece.
