Vol.1 pp. xii, Vol. 2., pp.xii, both with occasional, varied pagination thereafter. With a dedication to Princess Victoria, in Vol. 1; Address, List of Subscribers and Contents in both volumes. The plates to Vol. 1 are dated as being published 2 Jan. - Dec 1, 1832 and Vol. 2 from Jan 1, 1833 - Feb 1, 1834. George Samouelle was a keeper of the entomology collections at British Museum for many years and an associate of the Linnean Society. He remarks in the preface that Insects indeed, appear the most important agents in the work of creation… A clean, beautifully illustrated set.
