Book Description

'Between 1974 and 1977, one small rural community on the coast of Wales experienced a spectacular spate of ufological activity. These things DID happen, they WERE frightening - and they could happen to YOU!' So starts the blurb for this fantastic paperback, one of a large collection of esoteric texts I will be bringing to the PBFA Hay on Wye Book Fair on Saturday 12th of July 2025. Inside this book we learn that a small community around St. Bride's Bay was 'shaken to its roots by UFO visitations, flying machines, balls of fire, silvery giants in spacesuits and disturbances to animals - all with witnesses.' There are, alas, no photographs but plenty of line illustrations. Chapters include 'A Slight Hint of Menace' and 'Is There A Goblin Universe?' A good question, and one I had never really considered before. Only the reader can decide, I suppose, and do remember that all the evidence is here in this book. One last enigma: although originally published by Faber, and easy enough to find in the hardback first edition, this first edition paperback is surprisingly rare. In fact, NO OTHER COPIES exist online. And that really is a mystery!
Dealer Notes
Generally sharp with mild creasing to the spine. One of a large collection of esoteric texts I will be bringing to the PBFA Hay on Wye Book Fair on Saturday 12th of July 2025; this is the only one I have found so far to do with Wales.
