First edition. #115 of 750 copies [on last page], signed and dated by the author, "26th October, 2000" on title-page. With additional presentation inscription signed "Fay" on front endpaper. As new, in near fine clamshell case which is bumped at lower front corner.
Dealer Notes
Fay Weldon was commissioned by Italian jewelers Bulgari to write a novel mentioning their product at least a dozen times; they planned to issue a limited edition of 750 copies, in clamshell case, to give away to guests at a corporate party. The result raised eyebrows, and hackles, across the literary world. Most reviewers had to admit that, though the 30+ mentions of the sponsor weighed it down, the story was fun to read.
