This descriptive and pictorial account of the Virgin Islands first appeared in 1902, and this second edition contains “additions and improvements” (Preface). The illustrations show scenes on the several islands, with subjects including buildings, shops, views, locals, docks, and the like. The Preface by Charles Taylor - author of several other works on these West Indian islands - is dated London, 1905, with his text before and following the images; the book closes with advertisements for mainly Virgin Islands businesses.
