Arthur Twistleton Polhill-Turner (later simply Polhill) in 1885 left England for China as one of the Cambridge Seven for the China Inland Mission. Based at Sui-Ting-Fu when the Boxer Rebellion broke out, he came back to England with his wife and child - the “Baby” of the title. He returned to China in autumn, 1902, remaining until 1928. His return to China, and a visit made to a prison, are recorded in the present, uncommon volume.
