Rosamund's Tuck-Shop
Book Description
A 1930s English novel of young women's lives, subtitled 'A School Story', Rosamund's Tuck-Shop is one of the many books by the prolific girls' writer. Oxenham was the nom de plume of Elsie Jeanette Dunkerley, best known for her Abbey series of 38 stories. She is considered a major figure among girls’ story writers of the first half of the 20th century, being one of the ‘Big Three’ with Elinor Brent-Dyer and Dorita Fairlie Bruce. Oxenham has devoted collectors, and a society dedicated to her, namely the Elsie J. Oxenham Society.
