The 'Order of Service' for cookery writer Elizabeth David's memorial service at St Martin-in-the-Fields held on Thursday 10th September 1992. Elizabeth David's ‘French Country Cooking’ (1951) was, and is, highly influential and it found its perfect partner in John Minton's illustrations here reproduced in colour to the front and back of the card cover and with two further black and white illustrations within. Elizabeth David's other works were honoured during the service with extracts from ‘French Provincial Cooking’ (1960) and ‘Syllabubs & Fruit Fools’ (1969) read. Appreciations of Elizabeth David's life and work were given by other food experts including Alice Waters the prolific food and cookery writer, owner of Chez Panisse in Berkeley, California and founder of the Edible Schoolyard and Edible Education movements.
