Book Description

Oblong, 18 x 10cm, 37ff., one stub. Original calico cloth covered boards, looped cloth closure, paper ticket of Reeves & Son Ltd London to upper pastedown & oval ink stamp of Hibbert Bros of Norfolk St., Sheffield. This competent sketchbook by Sheffield-based amateur artist, F. Martin, comprises some three dozen sketches including thirteen full pencil sketches, nine part-completed & thirteen outline sketches of scenes in the Peak District and Shropshire. Two views are named - Cwmdale, Shropshire and Hassop Road (Bakewell). The sketches include views of woodland, moors and villages.
