First edition of this Latin translation of the Book of Common Prayer by Thomas Parsell (1674-1720) who had graduated from Oxford in 1697. Seven editions of this Latine edition were published from 1706 until 1759. This copy is extra-illustrated with 47 (of 48) full page plates. It also contains the “Whole Book of Psalms” in English from 1707. This would have been a more deluxe edition of the Book of Common Prayer for an educated reader. This copy is housed in its nice original black morocco binding with gold tooling and spine with 5 bands. Gilt text block and marbled end papers.
