Book Description
                        John Lewis Born 30th March 1855, was a coach builder & promoter of the Temperance Movement.
He founded Blackburn Rovers Football Club in 1875 & played in their first match.
Lewis then became a referee & earned the name “Prince of Referees” He was 3 times appointed referee in the FA Cup Final (1895, 1897 & 1898). When in his 60’s he refereed the controversial 1920 Olympic Final in Antwerp between Belgium & Czechoslovakia, where after sending off a Czech player, the team left the field & Lewis awarded the match & gold medal to Belgium.
