Helmet & Cowl – Stories of Monastic and Military Orders
Book Description
Helmet & Cowl – Stories of Monastic and Military Orders by W. M. [Winifred Mabel] Letts and M. F. S. Letts (London: Wells Gardner, Darton & Co. Limited, 1st edition 1913).
Hardback – cloth spine over paper boards, titles to spine and boards, onlay plate to front, in a dustwrapper with circular window to front. pp xii, 122, plus tipped-in colour plates. Size: 11 x 9 inches approx. (278mm x 229mm).
Dustwrapper rubbed and worn, especially to tall top edge; small loss to spine ends and corner tips; a bit grubby and marked in places, darkened to spine; a few short edge tears; a couple of repairs with archival tape to verso. Covers: light wear and rubbing to spine ends; boards lightly bumped and worn to corners; boards a touch dusty and marked but generally very clean and bright. Some creasing to front and rear endpapers, ownership inscriptions in ink to front; occasional dustiness but generally pages clean throughout; a few plates with the inevitable corner creasing but otherwise clean and bright.
Overall, showing some wear but otherwise a nice, clean copy complete with its dustwrapper – lovely.
