                            Alessandro Alessandri (1461-1523) Italian jurist, disenchanted with the system soon abandoned his law practice and devoted himself to philological and antiquarian pursuits. Modelled on Gellius' Noctes Atticae, Macrobius' Saturnalia and John of Salesbury's Policratus, the Dies Geniales here in its final and best edtion with the various commentaries, embraces a wide range of topics, including the laws dealing with banquets, wine and drunkenness.
