A pair of author annotated copies - both first edition, first printings published by Heinemann in 1960 and 1962. Consisting of: ‘Casanova’s Chinese Restaurant’: with textual corrections in the novelist’s hand scattered throughout. Heinemann have stamped ‘File Copy’ on the first blank and Powell has written ‘not corrections on pages 97, 164, 169, 82, 7, 11, 23, 82, 88, 105, 128, 132, 146, 168, 226, 78. 59’ - page numbers in a mixture of pen and pencil, some offering more than one correction. This was probably marked up for the first Penguin edition of 1964. ‘The Kindly Ones’: with textual corrections to page 8, 219, 242 and stamped File Copy to two pages. A very good copy in like unclipped wrapper.
