This is a Near Fine Copy of this rather uncommon book bound in a greyish/brown coloured cloth with gilt title lettering to spine.Translated from the Hungarian and with a foreword by Major Gerald Burrard.The binding remains tight with NO hinge weakness,half title is present.Illustrated with some 200 illustrations and with a folding sketch map at the end of the volume highlighting Mr Kittenberger's expeditions.Lovely clean copy internally and with the top edge of the book in gilt.The Author was a Hungarian hunter-collector who collected trophies for the Hungarian Museum.Book features his adventures in Kenya Colony, Uganda and German East Africa (Tanzania). At the base of Mt Kilimanjaro, he got mauled by a lion and was transfered to Moshi, also suffering from malaria. His first trip to Africa was in 1902 and the last in 1925.
