Book Description
                        Comprising of volumes I, II land III. Volume I covers the early history to the burning of Rome by the Gauls. Volume II covers the Gaulish invasion to the end of the first Punic War. Volume III is from the end of the first to the end of the second Punic War. This is the first edition of this work. At the time of his deaf his 'History of Rome' remained unfinished. It is one of Arnold's chief literary works.
