A printed note on the title verso states 'One hundred copies all for presentation'. Bradford founded the Philadelphia Journal in December 1742, was appointed the official printer to the Congress in Philadelphia at its first meeting in 1774 and so became the printer of Congress's Declaration of Independence in 1776..
