Book Description

Two hand coloured lithographs from J C Bourne's 'The History and Description of the Great Western Railway' - 'Chippenham' and 'Railway and Avon near Bath', in matching frames, 20" x 15" approximately. In excellent condition.
Dealer Notes
Bourne's Great Western Railway followed his 'Drawings of the London and Birmingham Railway' which was published in 1839. The bridge to the left of the image in 'Railway and Avon near Bath' is the Victoria Bridge built in 1836, which was then on the outskirts of Bath to the west of the City Centre. The price is for the pair, or £130 each
