The wrapper a little discoloured to the spine, with chipping at the spine ends and corners; light wear along to the joints and edges and a little toning throughout. The book itself cocked, with light bumping at the spine ends. Biro ownership inscription to the front endpaper. Page 200 dog-eared to top corner, binding a little loose throughout. An early reprint of Smith's debut, still listing his name as Wilbur A. Smith.
