                        Published by Samuel Tymms, Lowestoft and Whittaker and Co, London, 1866. Two volume set. Half leather binding with marbled boards. Five raised bands to spine. Gilt lettering on leather patches to compartments two and four, gilt decorative devices to other compartments. Large paper copies. 11ins x 8.75ins, marbled endpapers. Volume one: [ii], xiv, 314pp plus frontis & 13pp plates. Volume two: [ii], 324pp plus frontis and 15pp plates. Many other illustrations within text in each volume. Families featured include Eden, Clopton, Crane, Spring, Martin, Daniell, Cordell, Poley, Fulnteby, Warburton, Kempe, Lucas, Payne, Peyton, Gage, Hervey, Cavendish,etc. Previous owners bookplate(Sydenham H.A. Hervey) to front pastedown of each volume. Also bookplate of E.Starkie Bence of Kentwell Hall, Long Melford to front free endpaper of volume one.  Handwritten list of contents to verso of half title in volume two. Nb no title page in volume two.  Loosely inserted is an invoice, dated 1918 ,from H.W. Hunt bookseller of Norwich and Bence of Kentwell Hall which shows that these volumes were purchased with a part exchange of the ordinary size copies! Volume one a little rubbed to head of spine but generally a VG  set. Nb heavy set weighing over 3kg pre packing. Overseas customers should request postage quote.
