A Memoir" by Sir Westcott Abell and "An Evaluation of the Work of William Froude" by R. W. L. Gawn. There is also a letter to the subscribers saying that since the publication of the book two further papers by Froude had come to light which have been reprinted and forwarded. These two papers are neatly gummed into the back.
