Dedication to John Soane from Eliza Cresy, the translator. Bookplate to both front pastedown, :Stirling Christie:. 8vo., Vol. 1., pp. lxxii, [2], 351; Vol. II., pp. 454. Spines worn, scratches to cover of Vol.1 and rear cover sunned, small piece of leather missing from tail of spine but an attractive an rare copy. The first volume contains an introduction to architectural principles and an account of European architects from the 5th century B.C. to the 16th century A.D.; the second volume, of those of the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries.
