Inscribed, 'Edward Breese, Esq. F.S.A. from the author Robert Williams. In memory of a pleasant meeting at Penarth, February 1878.' Edward Breese (1835-1831) was a solicitor and antiquary. As manager of the Madocks estate he had a role in the planning of the new town of Portmadoc. Also with the armorial bookplate of British ornithologist W.H. Mullens (1866-1946).
