Royal 8vo. xxix. 376pp. WITH BEWICK RECEIPT WITH THUMB PRINT DATED 1ST OCTOBER 1818, FOR A ROYAL Tan half-calf with marbled paper and matching marbled paper endpapers, all edges gilt, contrasting labels. A little unevenly sunned, slightly rubbed to edges and corners and small scratch on lower corner but a nice example with clean pages.
Dealer Notes
Roscoe Variant B. with the philosopher vignette on page xvi. and page 248 reads 'road candour and prudence' as normal Rwith Royal 8vo. examples. Receipt shows fern away from moon, but dated 1st October and with long thumb-print. See Roscoe 160.
