                        First edition. 8vo, xvi, 503, four page publishers¿ catalogue to rear dated July 1849. Lithographed frontis, and eight plates as listed, plus six woodcuts to text, original decorated cloth, skilfully rebacked with original spine laid-down, retaining original endpapers. A nice association copy, to front is written To Rev. Geo. Williams, BD, Author of the Holy City, with the sincere regards of the Author, Burlington College, New Jersey, April 15th 1850. Ex libris, with label to front paste-down, stamp to verso of title page, small stamp to page 1, slight foxing throughout as usual, a very nice item, covering Alexandria, the Nile, Pyramids, Thebes, Karnak, Cairo, the Copts and the Coptic Church, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, the Dean Sea, Nazareth, Mount Carmel, and Beirut.
