This compilation consisted of numbers of a paper entitled 'The Cossack Post' which aspired to be the 'Journal of 'B' Squadron, Paget's Horse, written chiefly during a siege of some 5 months at De La Rey's Farm, Lichtenberg in Western Transvaal. During this time the company & civilians involved were cut off from all communication with the outside world except for native 'runners' from Mafeking. It was not written with any thought of future publication intended. THIS ITEM IS PART OF A SIGNIFICANT COLLECTION ON THE BOER WAR & SOUTH AFRICA
