Arlene Blum is an American mountaineer, writer and environmental health scientist who is best known for leading the all-woman ascent of Annapurna. Bill Hoke, whose ownership signature is in the book, was an avid mountaineer and firefighter in Washington State, who assisted in many mountain rescues.
