AB 12899. Osborn commanded the ‘Pioneer’ under Capt. H. T. Austin in the search for Sir John Franklin’s lost expedition. The ships travelled via Baffin Bay, Lancaster Sound and Barrow Strait before wintering at Griffith Island.
