RUSSIA IN WAR (First Edition)
Book Description
Bernard Shaw described the author of this book as 'an astonishing draughtsman ; perhaps the greatest of all the impressionists in black and white'. In August 1941 Topolski travelled to Russia as a member of the Polish Diplomatic Mission, and a representative of British War Artists and of a London newspaper. Given special privileged access he travelled extensively throughout Russia and this book is both a collection of works of art and a unique historical record.
