Rome, Emile Zola, Bibliothèque-Charpentier, 1896, Fine Binding, First Edition The second of the Les Trois Villes trilogy. Signed and dated by Walter Spindler, artist of some of Sarah Bernhardt's more famous portraits. A superb copy finely bound by Cretault. The book is bound in three quarter green leather with marbled inlay and endpapers. Gold lettering and five raised bands to the spine. The end papers and pages are without marks, tears and inscriptions. The top edge fully retains its original gold tint. The original silk ribbon is still full attached. Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.
