140x88mm. Postcard, single sided. Dated 20. viii. 55. The front side depicts a charming illustration by Mabel Lucie Attwell, with the caption 'With Heart That's True | I'll Wait For You'. Addressed to my darling Helen from Cromer, Norfolk. Written in Cushing s sloping hand in his characteristic blue ink. It reads: 'Thank you for the lovely | holiday that never ends with | you | all my love. | always' and is signed with a small doodle of a dog bone and paw. Cushing s activity in Cromer at the time is not known, at least to me, but there he did paint a beautiful watercolour of Cromer entitled Norfolk Landscape (after Edward Seago) in this year.
