Two matching volumes in original green cloth with gilt lettering to spine. Boards are marked and generally grubby. Corners are bumped, edges are worn. Spines are age darkened with bumping to ends and evidence of library stickers in a previous life. Occasional mild foxing. Have been recased with original spines relaid, map pocket inserted at back of volume II. Two folding maps in volume II rear pocket are supplied in FACSIMILE. Public library stamps to titles. All plates present as called for. Both have bookplate from Kenn Back (1942-, Meteorologist for the British Antarctric Survey and descendant of the Arctic explorer Captain George Back.)
