Book Description
1913 St Catherine’s Press card covers 32pp illus Small mark on front cover otherwise very good ...with the scarce later printed supplement about Edward Wilson This booklet was rushed out when the news of the death of Scott and the polar party reached England. So rushed that the publisher forgot to include Edward Wilson! It includes the famous message which has the lines ‘ Had we lived, I should have a tale to tell of the hardihood, endurance, and courage of my companions which would have stirred the heart of every Englishman’ and a short account of each of the men who died; although Petty Officer Evans was omitted. The class system was very much alive at the time! MY LATEST POLAR BOOKS CATALOGUE is available to view ON THE PBFA WEBSITE Click on 'CATALOGUES' on the KINGSBRIDGE BOOKS area
