CURRIE, George., of 2 Calvert Street, Norwich. His pocket notebook, written in ‘Goldsmith, an Almanack for the Year of Our Lord 1838.’ 64pp., the calendar section interleaved, and with his pencil notes on eleven leaves. He records personal expenses (engraving seal, fur collar, razor & strop, silk handkerchief &c), as well as some religious observations. Original red morocco, wallet-style binding, with pockets to both inside covers. 103mm x 64mm. 1838. ~ George Calvert (born 1797), of Calvert Street is recorded in the register of voters for 1835, and his death is noted as c1838. He purchased the notebook around November 1837, as he records that he moved into lodgings on the 27th of that month.
