Korea: A Walk Through the Land of Miracles
Book Description
Travel account of the author's visit to Korea. "Setting out from the honeymoon island of Cheju off the southern tip of the peninsula, he walked over 300 miles northwards to the capital city Seoul and the Demilitarized Zone on the North Korean border. His progress took him to tiny fishing villages and immense industrial cities, across high mountain ranges and lowland rice fields, to Buddhist monasteries set in starkly beautiful landscapes, and to high-tension American bomber bases. He also had a Seoul haircut, which proved quite unlike any other barbershop experience."
