Dealer Notes
A bright first edition copy of Priestley and Hawkes’ 1955 travelogue, documenting their separate (but twinned) journeys through the USA in 1954: “their purpose [...] to observe and reflect upon man [sic], as a social animal, (i) in primitive society, a form of which still persists in New Mexico, (ii) in the booming technocracy of mid-twentieth-century Texas,” and signed by the British archaeologist in November 1987 (who had taken “the high road to the Mesa Verde, Zuni and Taos”).
With a printed dedication: “To Carl Gustav Jung, The Wise Old Man”.
