Douglas Jardine was an England cricketer synonymous with the controversial ‘bodyline ’ tour of Australia in 1932-33 acknowledging the controversial bowling techniques he employed. After Australia he led the MCC in two tests against the West Indies and in 1933-34 to a tour of India where independence was still 14 years away and the team was warmly welcomed. “Jardine’s last tour” is a mix of cricket, game shooting, grand social occasions and emerging young cricketers . The tour consisted of 34 fixtures, 18 of which had first class status.
