A theologian, artist, and inventor, Isaac Taylor of Stanford Rivers 1787-1865) was eldest surviving son of Isaac Taylor of Ongar (1759-1829). His best known work is The Natural History of Enthusiasm, published in 1829.
Condition: Half leather, brown cloth boards. Some marks to board. Leather hinges solid. Gold tooling and five raised bands to spine with title in gilt. Wear to book edges and top of spine. Internal hinges beginning to crack. Internally clean, paper slightly warped. Marbled endpapers, matching sprayed edges, although faded. A great example.
